Well Halloween was a huge success!! We went to the Carnival at Baywood on Friday night, and then on Halloween went to the Family Fall Festival at our church. There are usually about 5000 people who show up to go "Trunk or Treating", bounce in the seven bounce houses and obstacle courses, and play in the many many game booths. The Youth had a fundraiser where you could smash a car with sledge hammers. That was super fun!! There was a fog machine inside the car so it looked like the car was all steamy from being crashed. What a great idea!!
So Brynn was a Pirate this year, and her costume, as always, was an original design made by none other than Linda Hensley, or Nana, and was the best Pirate Costume there is!! So beautiful!! Linda always makes Brynn's costumes and they are beautiful and spectacular every time. The Fairy Vampire next to Brynn is Hannalea, one of Brynn's friends from school, who came to hang at the Festival with us on Saturday night. She's a really sweet girl.
Camryn was a Pumpkin and I made her costume. As you can tell from the photos, this was my 2nd costume I ever made, and it was nothing compared to the Pirate, but Camryn liked it and it served it's purpose. My aim was function, and I hit the bullseye!! Camryn was so frustrated with the stuffing on the first night that she didn't wear it on the second night. Kind of a skinny string bean of a pumpkin on the second night. And no orange face. Too irritating for her.
Jason II was a Pumpkin also, and I sprayed my hair orange to be a pumpkin head to match the two little kids. The Baby had an orange face and green hair and wasn't bothered a bit by it. In fact he ended up sleeping during most of the carnival. Then when he woke up he was in a constant state of SURPRISE!!! He had never seen so many people in one place before, plus it was dark, and everyone was dressed in costume. It must have been a very surreal experience for him. No crying, though. I was a little worried since he has stranger anxiety right now, but he really did great!
A HUGE THANK YOU to Linda for making the pirate costume, Gramma Pat for the wonderful gift bags that the Good Ghost brought for the kids, Grampa Ken and Teresa for the cards, etc that came in the mail, Andy for letting us park in her driveway so we didn't have to take the shuttle to the Family Fall Festival, and to Butterfly Boutique for the super fun orange and black striped leggings that the baby is wearing in these photos.
Oops, I almost forgot. There are a couple of pics of Jason II where he is in a blue shirt, not his Halloween costume. That was this morning when he decided at 7:30 AM to get into the cat food and wine (bottles). Seems to fall short of a breakfast of champions, but for a baby who is newly crawling and discovering that there is more to our house than the living room and his bedroom, whatever he can find that is within reach is the cat's meow!!! Time to put the baby wall back up ...
So Cute!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the matching pumpkins and of course Brynn was beautiful!!
Aren't the Hip N Funks fun?? Audrey loves wearing them on her arms with short sleeve tee shirts too. And I love it because she is better at stuffing them in her pocket and not loosing htem like she does all of her jackets at school!
